Bought this Tv set at Costco because of their 90 day return policy. Unfortunately that will wasn’t quite good enough: at 141 days the TV tuner’s audio function unsuccessful (although the non send out audio inputs nonetheless work). Even upon day 1, the particular sound quality was no better than a $9 clock stereo: very thin situation + small rear heating speakers contribute to abnormally tinny sound (Folks, what’s the fascination with extremely thin cases, anyway? It only helps to make the audio engineer’s job more difficult). In the past few weeks the photo has been flickering don and doff. When the picture flickers rear on, the station indicator comes on, which can or might not imply that the signal is lost because the video portion of the tuner is also screwing up. (Or my OTA antenna is not strong enough, or the Vizio’s tuner is not delicate enough. Problem is irregular, increasing in frequency)
Regarding the internet buffering function, it takes Only two.5 to 3 min’s to handshake with Netflix via both Wireless and hard wired Ethernet cable before a movie actually starts to play, or to reboot movie playing after having a long pause. By using comparison, a Roku container feeding into the very same TV only takes 20 seconds to start out a movie via WIFI. Additionally, the TV provides lost track of your WIFI network 3 digit, requiring reentry a couple of times.
Benefits are that the rural and case are nice looking (the case is ultra thin!), and the picture is vibrant enough when looked at straight on (there exists significant light falloff any time viewed above or below the particular screen’s central axis, not as poor laterally).
Too bad this TV’s reliability along with functionality come up severely short or fail in multiple classes. While many Amazon testimonials report high degrees of satisfaction with the Vizio manufacturer, from here it looks being a crap shoot. Stung once, next time I’ll put less emphasis on specs at a low price, and look for better regarded brands reviewed on Amazon and also ConsumerSearch. Unfortunately, detailed Television reliability data is hard to find. Maybe VIZIO M221NV the next Television will cost me an extra $50. Worth it.
